How to Calculate Your TAMU GPA
Your GPA is calculated using the following formula:
GPA = Total Quality Points ÷ Total Credit Hours
Where Quality Points = Grade Points × Credit Hours for each course
TAMU Academic Standards
- Good Academic Standing: Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Dean's Honor Roll: Semester GPA of 3.75 or higher with at least 15 credit hours
- Distinguished Student: Semester GPA of 3.25-3.74 with at least 15 credit hours
- Academic Probation: Cumulative GPA below 2.0
- Academic Dismissal: Failure to raise GPA above 2.0 after probation
